      In three days, all power will go off, everywhere for a very long time.  What will you include in your author survival kit?  

Laptop with solar charger, campfire coffee pot, coffee, Katadyn micro-filter, extra coffee.

Where did the idea for the work you are promoting arise?

The idea came from the stark reality that today the entire world is nearly bankrupt. In thinking of how the world might operate in an insolvent future, I thought that the state might be required to handle crime and criminals in a “thrifty” manner, thus came about, Men of Color.

What do you like to read?
I enjoy reading across all genres. I recently re-read The Crow Road, by Ian Banks which is one of my favorite novels. As far as authors, I enjoy Stephen King, Suzanne Collins, Chuck Hogan / Guillermo del Toro, Richard Laymon, Brian Keene, and my all time favorite, the recently deceased, Ray Bradbury. For pure dialogue, I love Robert B. Parker, who also died in the past year.

Tell us about the most exciting place you have ever visited?
Would it be too much bluster to say inside my head?

It could very well be the most cost effective way to travel.

What is the most mundane, day to day, thing you can share about yourself?
Collect eggs from the henhouse.

Our hens stopped laying.  Or maybe they are hiding them well.

What scares you the most?
The thought of nothing. No earth, no sky, no sun, no universe. That scares the hell out of me for some reason.

7. I recently wrote my first haiku answering the question of what life is really all about on the planet. It goes:
Eat or be eaten –
Life sure seems to be fleeting,
For success, run fast.
