Life is a Story

Tell it Big

Winding up EdMo, tracking orphans and dressing up trick-or-Treaters

I have taken a step away from my blog and I miss my readers. How have you been? What have you been up to?

I participate in an editing event during March called National Novel Editing Month. The novel I am editing seems to be two different novels that mixed together as I wrote the first draft. At the end of EdMo, I am going to use some ideas from both parts, keep the character files and maybe some of the best scenes. Then I will start from scratch.

I have a few other novels with much more potential and a few of them are out in the endless loop of submission-rejection-resubmission. This marketing side of writing is confusing and those who make it through the maze, seem to have equal shares of luck, thick skin and skill.

While my orphan novels and short stories knock on doors like trick-or-treaters waiting for extra candy and and the best costume prize, I need to get going on my next project.  I need to dress up some characters, find some way to make them interesting to the ever changing readers and the current trends in the publishing world.

If you want to know how confusing the writerly world is, have a look at the video that  arrived in my email this morning and is the topic of discussion tonight in the Writers Chatroom. Drop by at 6PM MDT and join the conversation.
