Fiction Friday – If Only I’d Remembered

Reflections from a 52 Year Old Man – a prompt….

“I could have avoided all that trouble if I’d remembered to…”  The man tugged nervously at the crease of his pant leg.

“It wasn’t as bad as they’re making it out.” He leaned forward and poked at the open sodie can on the table.  “After all, it isn’t like I picked up the phone. I didn’t go looking for this.”

He leaned back in his chair and raised his hands and voice.  “How was I supposed to know?”

As it turned out, everyone got the photo and this poor guy has to live through the fall-out.

“Everyone saw it.”  The man rummaged a cloth handkerchief out of his trouser pocket and continued, “and they can see it again and again and again.  It will probably be on CNN before the end of the day.  Sure, they’ll blur it a little to save the public’s eyesight, or appease the network censors.”

“If only I’d remembered to slap a bit of tape over the webcam.”
